• "Storm Watch"

I've always had a fascination with lighthouses as landmarks and the rich history that usually goes along with them. The idea of sailors out in a stormy sea looking for that bright beacon of light to guide them safely back to port is exciting to me in so many ways. This particular painting was done using a fictional lighthouse. I wanted a stormy and troublesome effect to the painting and I used the blowing branches of the tree to draw attention to the windy, stormy conditions. This painting was done in oils on a 16" x 12" pre-stretched canvas.
